In this shadowy realm, Aeneas meets the ghost of his father, who unveils the glorious future of the Roman race and reveals the destiny that awaits his descendants. Armed with this divine vision, Aeneas sails onward to Latium, where King Latinus receives him hospitably and prepares to bestow his daughter Lavinia in marriage, fulfilling an ancient prophecy. However, this promising alliance is violently disrupted by the interference of Juno, who incites the local Rutulian king, Turnus, and the outraged Latin queen Amata to launch a devastating war against the foreign intruders. Seeking allies for the impending conflict, Aeneas travels up the Tiber to secure the support of the Arcadian king Evander, forging a crucial bond of friendship before returning to lead the Trojan forces into battle.
