The story begins with a mischievous piece of pine wood that carves itself into a lively puppet named Pinocchio, created by the kindly old carpenter Geppetto. Almost immediately, the wooden boy begins to rebel against authority, rejecting school and running away into a series of harrowing misadventures. He encounters tricksters, narrowly escapes hanging by assassins, suffers magical consequences for his dishonesty, and even briefly transforms into a donkey in the hedonistic Land of Boobies. Throughout these trials, Pinocchio's stubborn refusal to listen to wisdom brings severe hardships upon himself and heartbreak to his loving father.
The narrative shifts profoundly when Pinocchio discovers that Geppetto has sailed across the dangerous ocean in search of him. Driven by genuine remorse and filial love, the puppet leaps into a stormy sea to save his father, ultimately being swallowed by a colossal dog-fish. Inside the monster's belly, the long-separated father and son are joyfully reunited. By working tirelessly to support Geppetto and sacrificing his own desires to help his ailing creator, Pinocchio proves his moral transformation, ultimately shedding his wooden shell to become a real boy.
